Wigs are not just for people suffering from hair loss. A stylish wig is the fastest way to completely change your appearance. All the wigs here are in a complete range of colors - not just the colors shown.

A word of advice. If you are going far from your natural color - don't forget to also change the color of your eyebrows! Having black eyebrows and blond hair is a dead giveaway! So are blonde eyebrows and black hair..

In a reasonably eventful life, I've changed my hair color several times, sometimes with the aid of a wig. When told I'm naturally a brunette, people looked puzzled. I'm often tempted to dye my eyebrows blue and get a blue wig, just to see how far the illusion will work..

If you are just going slightly more red than your natural color, all you need there is an eyebrow pencil in a reddish shade to add a little authenticity. If you are losing some red - then a very faint dusting of matte blue or purple eyeshadow over the eyebrows should cool down the red.

Don't forget that as we age, skin gets lighter in tone. This means that your wig might need to be a couple of shades lighter than your natural haircolor to look really natural.

How to choose the right hairstyle and color

The right hairstyle for the fuller face.

Colors almost as light as your skin will add volume to your face, because lighter hair colors tend to blend in with it, visually. If you have a plump face you might want a darker color than you think, or stick to a very sleek style with straight lines. If you do go with a darker color - avoid straight bangs.

The ideal style for a plumper face would be a color quite a bit darker than the skin tone, with a distinct parting and longer hair.

You can also suit quite a lot of weight at the crown of your head.

This very sleek bob style would be very slimming.

This hairstyle too is very slimming.

If you want lighter colored hair, this style is ideal for the fuller face as it adds no volume.

What is the right hair style for people with slimmer faces?

Colors much darker than your skin will tend to slim down a face. If you have a thin face and want a dark color, You will need a style not too sleek (or it looks severe) and not too bouffant (or it will swamp your face). Bangs and layers will add some softness to your look. You might also want to consider a lighter shade than you intended.

The idea style for a thin face would be a color only slightly darker than the skin tone with soft waves, feathered bangs, and most of the volume around and just below the ears.

This style below has fullness in exactly the right place to appear to add volume to the face - if the color is kept around the same shade or only slighly darker than the skin tone.

This style below also adds a lot of fullness, but it might be too dramatic for some people.

This style, even when worn in dark brown on white skin, would not swamp a thin or angular face - because it is a very soft and layered style.

This sophisticated style below gives a pleasing roundness to the facial features, and the color is the most flattering one of all if you have light skin, and a slimmer or more angular face.

This style gives a pleasing roundness to the features as well, if your face is otherwise well proportioned.

This style would show off a slim face that had good cheekbones.
